Medical professions wear masks in surgeries or other high risk events, not walking the hallways or even in 99% of patient interactions. Stop acting like you know something about what they do, you're only showing us your CNN knowledge base when you do

VD, I have been wearing a mask in public, in stores anyhow, out of respect for my son and daughter-in-law and the desire to see my grandchildren. Going to see them next weekend for a 4th birthday party.
They said that's a must do, I won't lie to them.
What I do is purely voluntary, and those children & grandchildren that require me to wear masks are NOT the medical professionals.
The medical professional who just gave birth to twins DOES NOT REQUIRE ME TO WEAR A MASK, only that I was my hands. She trusts that everyone will behave like adults, and nobody will visit them that feels sick or is coughing / sneezing

Surgeons wear masks in the OPERATING ROOM to prevent the passage of germs from their nose and mouth into the patient's open wound and to protect their face from sprays and splashes from the patient. That's why they are called SURGICAL MASKS.
They don't wear masks casually walking around the hospital to protect themselves from random airborne germs and viruses. Ridiculous.
Try this experiment: wear a paper bag over your head and see how long it takes your body to tell you to "TAKE THAT SHIT OFF!" That's what you're doing to yourself when you wear a mask, only slower.
